Tournament favorites look too strong
Senegal vs Tunisia
Sunday July 14, 17:00 BST
Live on Eurosport 1
Senegal were one of our three pre-tournament tips to be crowned African champions and like fellow selections Algeria they have made it all the way lớn the semi-finals. The Lions of Teranga were 7.40 when we put them forward for glory and are now trading as 2.66 favorites to lift the trophy in Cairo.
If you backed Senegal when we put them up, you can cover your stakes by backing Tunisia lớn win this semi-final. The Eagles of Carthage are 2.30 lớn make it through via any of the three available methods (normal time, extra-time, penalties). It should be noted the 'To Qualify' market is obviously different from the 'Match Odds' market, the latter referring only to the result in 90 minutes- According lớn the soccer vip tip page!
If you didn't follow our initial Senegal tip, it's not too late lớn side with Aliou Cisse's side. They haven't lit up the tournament the way many expected them lớn - they have progressed to the semi-finals thanks lớn 1-0 wins over Uganda and Benin in the last-16 and quarter-finals respectively - but they have looked solid, well-organized and produced occasional flashes of quality in the final third.

It speaks volumes for how obdurate Senegal are that they've kept four clean sheets in five matches. The only side to have scored against them - Algeria - have been arguably the most complete in the tournament, so Tunisia will need to produce something special lớn find the net.
There's reasonable skepticism over whether Tunisia are capable of producing something special. They burst into life with their 3-0 quarter-final win over Madagascar having failed lớn win either of their previous four matches in 90 minutes. Alain Giresse's players will carry confidence into this game on the back of that last-eight victory but Senegal are the best side they've faced and this match may be a step too far for the underdogs.

Arsenal v Bristol City Women
Sunday December 1, 12.30pm
Live on BBC Online
Arsenal thrashed Bristol City 7-0 ten days ago ...
The teams met in the Conti Cup just over a week ago and the Gunners ran out 7-0 winners. Bristol City have the worst defensive record in the WSL currently and Arsenal have quite possibly the best center-forward in the world in Vivianne Miedema. The equation doesn't add up well for Tanya Oxtoby's Bristol City side.
Joe Montemurro's side need a big win ...
Arsenal haven't conceded in seven jackpot soccer tip now, however, they only beat vastly inferior opponents in Spurs and Liverpool 2-0 and 1-0 respectively. Meanwhile, title rivals Chelsea were running up a 6-0 win against Birmingham while Manchester City have hit 10 goals in their last two games. There is only one point separating the top three, but Arsenal sit third with a +9 goal difference. Chelsea have a +15 and Manchester City +16. Arsenal won't just want a victory, they will want a sizeable one.

Arsenal played bottom of the league Liverpool last week and only won 1-0, however, Liverpool have only conceded nine goals in their seven league games so far. Their problems are at the other end of the pitch, where they are yet lЫn score fr om open play. Liverpool travel to Manchester City on Sunday and Arsenal will hope that they can at least keep the score down.
Having beaten Bristol City 7-0 just over a week ago, Arsenal will want something similar this time around. The Gunners have won 15 of their 16 home games in 2019- Meadow Park is something of a fortress. Over 3.5 goals at 13/20 is a decent bet. There is little value in betting on the Gunners lЫn win at 1/14, the margin of the victory is wh ere the smart money will go.

England v USA
Tuesday July hai, 20:00
BBC One
Neville looking to match USA's confidence
Since being appointed as the coach of the Lionesses some 18 months ago, Phil Neville has cited the US as a benchmark for his team. In his unveiling press conference, Neville told journalists, "I relate it back lЫn the USA team and the way they puff their chests out and say 'we're the best in the world', that's the kind of arrogance I want fr om my team . "
Neville has continued this bullishness into the World Cup and in the build-up to this crunch semi-final against the US- England's biggest soccer handicap tip since losing the Euro 2009 Final to Germany. & Quot; Nobody cares who loses a semi-final, it's all about winning. No-one cares about silver and bronze - it's the gold medal everyone wants, "Neville said in his pre-match press conference.
The Lionesses boss describes Tuesday's opponents as 'the best team in the world' with good cause. They are the reigning World champions after all. They also possess quality and depth in pretty much every position. It is difficult to identify too many weaknesses. The forward line of Tobin Heath, Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan is as star studded as they come.

Both teams have goalscorers- but the midfield is wh ere the real battle lies
Both on 5 goals at the World Cup, Morgan and Rapinoe are engaged in a private battle for the golden boot- you can get 10/3 for Morgan to score first or 7 / 2 on Rapinoe, who has scored all four of the US 'goals in the knockout stages. England striker Ellen White is also on 5 goals for the tournament and you can get exceptionally good value on her as first goalscorer at 8/1. Unlike past tournaments, the US 'power base, however, is not just their star-studded forward line.
Coach Jill Ellis has moved away from a 4-4-2 shape recently and towards a more modern 4-3-3. This is because they have a well-balanced engine room. Julie Ertz is one of the best midfield ball-winners in the women's game and her battle with England stalwart Jill Scott could define this encounter. Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis are likely lЫn complete the midfield trio with Lindsey Horan on the bench, showcasing the incredible depth available lЫn Ellis.

Barcelona v Liverpool
Tuesday 20:00, BT Sport hai
Match Odds: Barcelona 1.95, Liverpool 4.40, The Draw 3.80.
Barcelona start as favorite for this Champions League semi-final, but Liverpool are capable of matching them across the park, and tactically they have every chance of standing up lớn Ernesto Valverde's side, and taking them on in a good, open game of good soccer tip .
Messi and midfield represent Barca's main strengths
Tactics, though, can sometimes be rendered less important - because, of course, Barca have Leo Messi in their ranks, and if the Argentine brings his best form here, he makes every kind of tactical plan almost irrelevant.
Now back on the right flank after a period playing as a number 10, Messi drift inside into pockets of space between the lines. He remains a master of through-balls, has scored 10 goals in the Champions League this season, and has improved his free-kick taking to become the most dangerous set-piece taker in Europe. Sometimes, he's simply unstoppable.

The other area where Liverpool can't compete is in terms of midfield possession play. Sergio Busquets is getting on a bit, but his calmness in possession and his ability to play disguised passes through the lines is hugely valuable, while Ivan Rakitic is probably still underrated and his cool pass-and-move play to the right is a vital part of Barca's plans in working the ball into Leo Messi.
Selection dilemmas for Valverde
The third midfielder is likely to be Arthur, yet another hugely authoritative midfield passer who will frustrate Liverpool with his patient distribution if Barcelona find themselves ahead in the tie. Arturo Vidal is another option, bringing more energy and fight to the side, which might be required against this energetic Liverpool side.
Valverde has two other selection decisions lớn make. One is at right-back, where Nelson Semedo's speed might be preferred over the option of Sergi Roberto, who is more comfortable in possession. At the other end of the pitch, there's a decision to make about who to play alongside Messi and Luis Suarez in the front three.

Denmark U21 v Austria U21

Austria can replicate opening match win
Denmark can have few complaints about their 3-1 defeat lớn Germany on Monday night. Not only was the margin of their defeat a substantial one (3-1) but they were also behind in just about every other metric: possession, shots on goal and corners.
At one stage they were actually 3-0 down, pulling a soccer tip forum back late in the game from the penalty spot, courtesy of Copenhagen winger Robert Skov.
In truth, there was no disgrace in that defeat. Germany have been slightly under-rated coming into this competition and those who got the 11/2 that they'd defend their title must be wondering what they did to deserve such generosity from the odds-compilers. That's scant consolation for Denmark, though.
Like every other team who lost their first game, they know they're drinking in last-chance saloon.
Austria on the other hand will be full of confidence. Serbia carried plenty of people's 'dark horse' tag so lớn beat them comprehensively was a pretty good effort. It was no fluke, either. Vukasin Jovanovic's sending off obviously helped matters no end but by that stage (the 75th minute) they were already 1-0 up and playing the better football. Their second goal was no more than they deserved.

This has been an unpredictable tournament in terms of results but one constant feature has been that of plenty of matches having a wrong pre-match favorite, based on all the info we have about the two teams.
This game is another example of that. Austria's win over Serbia made it just one defeat in eight for them, that one loss coming in a friendly away in Spain. Not only did they end their qualifying campaign in style but in friendlies after it they also beat this tournament's favorites in France and drew 0-0 in Italy.
As often happens in U21 games, there's little in the way of recent results lớn see how they've fared against each other in the past, their last meeting in a competitive match coming back in 1992.
Austria are in fine form, played well in that first game and will be feeling good about life. They really shouldn't be 7/4 underdogs here, so bet accordingly.

Portugal v Switzerland
Wednesday, 19:45
Live on Sky Sports Football & Main Event
I can see why Portugal have been installed as favorites lớn win the inaugural Nations League Finals.
First of all, they have home advantage and, secondly, they appear lớn have had the rub of green in the semi-final draw, being paired with Switzerland, rather than the World Cup semi-finalists England or the resurgence Netherlands.
Portugal hard to beat
Yet I'm not prepared to sign up lớn the view that they warrant their position at the head of the market, as I explained in my preview of the tournament as a whole- According to the soccer tip for today page!
They head into this game in Oporto having lost only one of their last 15 games but they remain a team lacking in style and they have often been found wanting against supposedly weaker nations - just take a look at how they began their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign in March, with home draws against Ukraine and Serbia. They arrive here having drawn their last four.

Fernando Santos has plenty of talent at his disposal, including arguably the world's best in Cristiano Ronaldo. With the likes of Joao Felix having emerged this season, that pool is expanding, but he has consistently struggled to get his stars playing flowing football.
Stubborn Swiss
He has, of course, been excused on that front given Portugal ground their way to Euro 2016 glory but his team never seems lớn truly convince and with that in mind I'm wary about backing them against a Swiss side, who have also proved stubborn opponents.
In terms of bare numbers, Switzerland don't match up to Portugal but in the past 12 months they have beaten Belgium and Serbia, as well as drawn with Brazil and Spain.
In Xherdan Shaqiri they have a trump card capable of causing any opponent problems. He's long been looked lớn as the man lớn create and score goals, which have often been in short supply, but the during the group phase, the Swiss found other attacking options as they rammed home 14 goals - the most of any team in the top tier of the competition.
Haris Seferovic certainly caught the eye, netting five of those. He's enjoyed a fine season with Portuguese champions Benfica, scoring 23 goals in 29 league games, and will surely be highly motivated playing at the home of one of his club's great rivals.
After thrashing a strong Belgium side 5-2 lớn qualify for these Finals, the Swiss don't deserve to be written off, especially given they open up against a home team who have often failed to live up lớn the sort of top billing they are getting here. Just remember, Portugal won just one of four games at last summer's World Cup (1-0 over Morocco), drawing with Iran and Spain and bowing out lớn Uruguay.

Celeste looking to kick on
Uruguay were our main antepost tip lЫn win the Copa Amйrica, and while their price hasn't come in as much as might have been expected - they're 5.60 to win the tournament - we're satisfied with what we have seen thus far. There was a brief wobble in the group stage, when they were held by Japan, but the 1-0 victory over Chile at the Maracanг, which sealed top spot, was exactly the kind of performance you expect fr om Уscar Tabбrez's side: determined, gritty and cathartic- According lЫn the jackpot soccer tip page!
All is not perfect. The midfield, while solid, is still creating too little: Giorgian de Arrascaeta came into the side on Monday, as predicted, but did not add much spark from the right flank, while Nicolбs Lodeiro has faded after a fine start lЫn the tournament against Ecuador . It would help if the full-backs provided a little more thrust, but with Diego Laxalt injured, Tabбrez has had to use Martнn Cбceres on the left, wh ere he offers little. With the clunky Giovanni Gonzбlez on the other flank, there's not much valuable support for the wide midfielders.
It's lucky, then, that the side's two great strengths continue lЫn concretise. The defense was brilliant against Chile, with Josй Marнa Gimйnez increasingly taking on the role of ringleader from partner Diego Godнn. And up front, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suбrez have both looked in the mood this month. They have scored two goals apiece and if they remain fit, Uruguay will always have a chance in any game.

Peru need lЫn bounce back
It's fair lЫn say the group stage was a mixed bag for Peru, who were excellent against Bolivia (3-1), unlucky against Venezuela (0-0) and absolutely appalling against Brazil (0-5). The task for coach Ricardo Gareca is lЫn ensure that that last result, last Saturday afternoon in Sгo Paulo, doesn't have any lasting effect on his side as they head into the knockout rounds.
There has already been some bad news in the days since that game: Jefferson Farfбn has been forced to pull out of the squad due to injury. His replacement here is likely lЫn be Йdinson Flores, with Christian Cueva moving into a more central role; that was actually the preferred combination at last summer's World Cup, so it might yet turn out OK, particularly if Cueva can find some gaps behind Uruguay's flat midfield.

Emery goes ... finally
The speed with which Arsenal dismissed Unai Emery following Thursday night's 2-1 defeat at home to Eintracht Frankfurt tells us the board's anger was more at themselves than at the manager. Hindsight is 2020, but it did seem obvious at the time that Arsenal should have removed Emery after the abysmal performance against Southampton. By not acting they missed out on the chance to guarantee a Europa League knockout spot last night. You can prefer to the under 2.5 soccer tip page!
Arsenal had, in fact, hoped for an upturn in results over the next few weeks and had no plans lЫn pull the trigger, according to well sourced newspaper reports, but Thursday's result left them on their longest winless run (seven) since 1992.
Consequently the next manager market is difficult lЫn predict, since none of the groundwork is in place for a seamless transition.

Not that the Gunners necessarily need lЫn act quickly. Interim manager Freddie Ljungberg is a decent candidate for a start, having impressed since being promoted over the summer, but more importantly Arsenal are only one point off fifth - the position most would agree is par for the club.
The final nail in the coffin for the board was the number of empty seats on Thursday. The next boss, then, needs lЫn look like an ambitious, and optimistic, choice.
Here are the top five candidates in the betting at the time of writing, and a wild card, to replace Emery:
Max Allegri (11/10) could see this as best option
The only high-profile manager currently out of work is ex- Juventus coach Maximiliano Allegri, who won five consecutive league titles at Juventus. He has long been linked with a move lЫn the Premier League, reportedly learning English for some time and waiting for the right opportunity in this country, and indeed with Mauricio Pochettino now on the market Allegri might look at Arsenal as the highest he can aim.
Allegri would certainly be a departure fr om Emery's (attempted) attractive football and a decisive final pivot away from the philosophy of Arsene Wenger, but we are reaching a point wh ere many associated with the club would like nothing more than a disciplinarian and organiser through the door to sort this team out. Much of the early money on the Betfair market has sided with Allegri.
